Building multiple locations for the same franchise group requires consistency, efficiency, and attention to brand standards. Over time, our team has developed a deep understanding of Dave’s Hot Chicken’s design requirements, operational flow, and construction specifications.
As a result, each new project benefits from lessons learned on previous builds. This experience allows Strack Construction to deliver restaurant spaces faster while maintaining the brand’s high-energy identity.
Transforming an Existing Property
One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the transformation of an existing site. The new restaurant is being built within a former Taco John’s property, giving new life to a previously vacated space.

- A welcoming outdoor patio for guests
By repurposing an existing building, the project supports efficient development while revitalizing the surrounding commercial area.

This milestone reflects Strack Construction’s continued role in supporting fast-growing restaurant brands across the Midwest.
Project Overview
This project involves the construction of a new Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurant in Edina, MN. The site sits in a high-traffic commercial area with strong visibility. Because of this location, the restaurant is positioned for both walk-in and drive-by customers.
Dave’s Hot Chicken continues to expand rapidly across Minnesota and nationwide. As a result, speed, consistency, and quality matter on every build. Strack Construction brings proven systems to each restaurant buildout.
Additionally, the Edina location follows a familiar prototype. This allows for efficient planning and streamlined execution. For this reason, early coordination plays a critical role in the project’s success.
Client & Franchise Partnership
This Edina restaurant marks the seventh project Strack Construction has completed for MN Chicken. The partnership spans every Dave’s Hot Chicken location the franchisee has opened in Minnesota.
Meanwhile, Strack Construction has also completed two additional Dave’s Hot Chicken locations for another franchise group. In total, this project represents Strack’s ninth Dave’s Hot Chicken build to date.
Because of this repeat work, the partnership continues to grow. Each project benefits from lessons learned on previous locations. Clear communication and consistent results remain the foundation of that trust.
Location & Building Strategy
The new Dave’s Hot Chicken is located within an active commercial corridor in Edina. Restaurant construction in these environments requires careful coordination. However, Strack Construction manages schedules and logistics with precision.
Strip center and infill restaurant projects demand flexibility. Deliveries, inspections, and utility work must align closely. As a result, Strack’s team plans site access and sequencing well in advance.
Because of this approach, surrounding businesses experience minimal disruption. Safety, cleanliness, and communication stay front and center throughout construction.

This project reflects Strack Construction’s continued commitment to supporting growing national brands while revitalizing existing properties.
Redeveloping an Existing Site
The new Mister Car Wash is a full redevelopment of a former KFC property. Transforming an existing restaurant site into a modern car wash facility requires careful planning and coordination. The building footprint, utilities, and site layout all demand strategic adjustments.
Because redevelopment projects often present unknown conditions, early evaluation plays a critical role. Strack Construction works proactively to assess infrastructure and identify improvements before major work begins. As a result, the team maintains steady progress throughout construction.
Revitalizing underutilized sites benefits both property owners and the surrounding community. This approach supports smart growth while reducing unnecessary expansion into new land.
Designed for High-Volume Performance
A key feature of this project is the 130-foot wash tunnel. This extended tunnel length supports efficient, high-volume throughput while delivering a consistent customer experience. Modern car wash construction requires detailed coordination of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Each component must align precisely to ensure smooth operation. For this reason, the Strack team collaborates closely with engineers and equipment vendors throughout the process.
In addition, site flow and traffic patterns play an important role in overall performance. Clear entry and exit points help customers move through the property safely and efficiently.
