Grede Foundry has been a long time customer of Strack since 1996.  Grede is a ductile iron foundry serving the Automotive industry throughout the country.  The project consisted of 2 phases of work, the first phase consisted of a 32,000 sf structural steel expansion for a new sand mold line which included numerous equipment foundations and pits, the second phase consisted of adding a third melt furnace.

The project faced many challenges since the work had to be completed while the foundry was fully operational.  In addition to the building construction our scope of work included multiple equipment installations including a melt furnace, cooling systems, DISA mold line, holding furnace, sand conveyors, and dust collection systems.
